ADA, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's basketball team opened Great American Conference play on Thursday night with a 62-48 road loss to East Central.
Though ECU led for the majority of the game, there were six lead changes and six tied scores in the first half with Ouachita leading by as much as four early in the second period. ECU's largest lead in the first half was six late in the first period.
ECU pulled away late, outscoring Ouachita 21-10 in the final 10 minutes. ECU shot 70 percent from the field in the fourth (7-for-10), which Ouachita hit at 38.5 percent (5-for-13).
Overall, Ouachita finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field (21-for-48), 29 percent on three-pointers (5-for-17), and 25 percent on foul shots (1-for-4).
Ouachita's
Heidi Robinson led all scorers with 21 points on an 8-for-11 shooting performance. Robinson also turned in team-highs in rebounds (6) and assists (5).
The Tigers are back in action this Saturday, December 7 on the road against Southeastern Oklahoma State. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. in Durant.
