BETHANY, Oklahoma – A slow first half proved to be the difference as the Ouachita men's basketball team fell to Southern Nazarene University by the score of 81-64 Thursday night.
Ouachita (6-12, 4-9 GAC) made the first shot of the game, but Southern Nazarene (8-10, 5-8 GAC) was quick to answer. The Tigers held their own with the Crimson Storm over the first five minutes, but SNU began to pull away and Ouachita found itself down double digits midway through the first half. Southern Nazarene continued to build on its lead and the Tigers went into halftime trailing 47-26.
The Tigers went shot for shot with the Crimson Storm in the second half, outscoring SNU 38-34, but the halftime deficit was too much, and Ouachita fell by the score of 81-64.
Terran Williams led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points, followed by
Tylar Haynes with 12 and
Kobe Dunlap with 10. Williams also led the team in rebounding with seven, with
Marvin Williams-Dunn following with five.
The Tigers will look to get back on track on Saturday, February 3 as they take on the Bison of Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
