TYLER, Texas – The Ouachita women's tennis team opened its weekend in Texas with a 5-2 loss to UT-Tyler on Saturday.

The Tigers started the day winning the doubles point, highlighted by Austynn Crocker and Sadbaroy Kholdarova's 7-6 win over 21st-ranked Muskan Gupta and Allison Schwartz in first position that was decided 7-5 in a tiebreaker set. Olivia Gaston and Shelly Davilus clinched the double point with a 6-2 win in third position.

Ruxandra Tolescu was responsible for Ouachita's lone win in singles, needing a 10-5 tiebreaker set to get the point. Olivia Gaston and her UTT counterpart, Anna Melnik, went to tiebreakers in each of the first two sets with Melnik coming away with the point after winning the final tiebreaker 10-6.

The Tigers head over to Plano on Sunday to take on Texas A&M-Kingsville in a neutral site match at Collin College.
