ARKADELPHIA – As a part of National Signing Day, the Ouachita Baptist University football team has revealed a list of 36 high school seniors to join the program for the 2024 season and beyond.
The 2024 signing class joins the Ouachita football program that has posted 15 consecutive winning seasons following a 9-2 finish this past fall. It is the longest active streak among all college football programs in the state of Arkansas.
Ouachita Head Coach
Todd Knight, who enters his 26th year leading the program, says the sustained success has yielded balance among the classes for the Tigers.
"We started this cycle by putting our seniors up on the board to see what our immediate needs were, and the rest was all about keeping the balance that we strive for," said Knight. "Our staff did a great job of solidifying our focus areas, so that we can continue to compete for conference championships and NCAA playoffs."
One of the position groups that was specifically targeted was defensive line. The Tigers signed seven in that group, including five defensive ends.
"We're excited about this bunch," said Knight. "We focused on finding difference makers up front on defense, and I think our coaches did just that. There's a lot of potential in this group, not just the defensive lineman, and we have high expectations for them."
The 2024 signing class includes 20 from the state of Arkansas, 12 from Texas, and one each from Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. The class is nearly split down the middle with 19 signees on the defensive side of the ball and 17 on offense.
