RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Ouachita women's tennis team opened Great American Conference play on Saturday with a 5-2 road loss to Arkansas Tech.
Shelly Davilus and Ruxandra Tolescu started with a win in third position doubles, but the Golden Suns took first and second position to earn the early point.
In singles, the ATU won third, fourth, fifth, and sixth positions all in two sets, but Ouachita's Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Austynn Crocker battled for gritty wins in first and second positions, respectively. Both won in a third set tiebreaker.
The Tigers are back in action next Friday, April 5 on the road against Southeastern Oklahoma State for the second of five straight GAC matches.
