AUSTIN, Texas – Ouachita Baptist University senior swimmer Elijah Christenson has been selected to the Academic All-America Team presented by College Sports Communicators.
 
Christenson earned a spot on the Academic All-America First Team. The senior from Saint Michael, Minnesota also earned Second Team All-America honors for his fourth-place finish in the B Final of the 200 Butterfly at the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships in March. In addition to the All-America teams, Christenson also earned First Team All-New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference honors for his accomplishments in the pool over the course of the season.
 
The senior was also awarded the NCAA's prestigious Elite 90 award at the national championships. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.
 
In the classroom, Christenson carries a 4.0 cumulative grade point average at Ouachita in the pursuit of a degree in biomedical sciences and will graduate this May. Since enrolling at Ouachita in the fall of 2021, Christenson has made the President's List every semester.
