TIGERS ADD ALL-STATE SCORER

ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita men's basketball has added Texas All-State guard Crew Flowers to this year's signing class.

Flowers played his high school career at Southwest Christan School in Fort Worth, Texas. In his senior year, the guard was named the TAPPS 5A District 1 Offensive Player of the Year and earned first team all-district and first team all-state honors. The Texas native averaged 23 points per game his senior season, and added averages of five rebounds, four assists, and three steals per game to help lead his team to a 5A Area Championship.

"We are happy to welcome Crew to our Ouachita family. We love what he brings to the table as a true freshman," said Ouachita Men's Basketball Head Coach Dennis Nutt, "Our fan base will love his character, humility and work ethic, as well as his strong basketball IQ."

Flowers has winning in his DNA, as his mom, Christie Smith, was a first-round pick in the 1998 WNBA Draft after earning All-American honors at the University of Arkansas and his dad, Jeromy Flowers was a standout defensive back and punt returner for the Razorbacks.

Coach Nutt is high on Flowers joining this year's class. "It is clear his goals and mindset blend well with the rest of the guys in our program and this is an excellent fit," said Nutt.
