ADA, Oklahoma – Teagan Jaussi scored on a direct free kick with less than a minute remaining to give the Ouachita women's soccer team a 2-1 road victory over East Central on Saturday in the first Great American Conference contest of the season.
The Tigers (2-4, 1-0 GAC) scored both of their goals in the second half to rally back to earn the win.
Hattie Gardner scored from the assist of
Madi Vana in the 52nd minute to equalize the score.
Jaussi's game-winner was her first career collegiate goal. Gardner now has three goals this season and five for her career.
ECU (1-6, 0-1-1 GAC) took the first lead with a first-half goal coming in the 16th minute.
The orange Tigers led the offensive attack at 18-10, while the shots on goal were even at 5-5.
The purple Tigers are back in Arkadelphia for a three-game GAC homestand, starting next Thursday, October 3 against Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Kluck Field.
