ARKADELPHIA – Eight Ouachita Baptist University football student-athletes have been selected to the 2024 Academic All-District Team presented by College Sports Communicators.
Of the eight, five are earning at least their second academic honor from CSC, highlighted by graduate running back Kendel Givens and graduate receiver Connor Flannigan, both of whom are two-time CSC Academic All-America honorees.
The other three earning at least their second district honor include graduate linebacker Dawson Miller, junior offensive lineman Dylan Horton, and junior kicker Dax Jaggers. Graduate defensive lineman Melvin Kumwenda, senior quarterback Eli Livingston, and sophomore defensive lineman Joey Ortego are all earning their first CSC academic honor.
To qualify for the CSC honor, the student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve and carry at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA. True freshman are not eligible for the honor. The CSC Academic All-America team will be announced on January 28.
These eight Tigers helped Ouachita capture its 16th consecutive winning season this past year with a final 10-2 record to go along with a share of the Great American Conference championship and a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
