ARKADELPHIA — With the sun setting in Thursday's home finale and just 1:15 left on the clock, Ouachita redshirt-freshman Jack Langford drilled the winner to give the men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Harding at Kluck Field.
As the scoreless battle wound under the final two minutes, a foul deep inside Harding territory gifted Ouachita a golden opportunity to take the late lead. Set up just outside of the box, Langford curled the ensuing free kick into the top left corner of the net to give the Tigers (5-9-3, 3-7-1 GAC) their third Great American Conference win of the season.
Ouachita commanded the possession battle throughout the match and took advantage of a 10-2 edge in corner kicks, along with a 13-6 edge in shots to eventually break through. Senior goalkeeper Dillon Staal needed to gather just two saves to post his ninth career shutout. The freshmen duo featuring Andrew Castellanos and Langford combined to take nine of the Tigers' 13 shots, constantly testing the Bisons (2-13-2, 0-10-1 GAC) back line.
Ouachita has won three of its last four matches and will close out the 2025 regular season on the road against Southern Nazarene on Saturday in Bethany, Okla.
