GRAYSON EARNS EIGHTH GAC WEEKLY HONOR

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – For the eighth time this season, Ouachita men's basketball forward Hobert Grayson has earned Player of the Week honors from the Great American Conference after his performances last week.

Grayson was named the GAC's Defensive Player of the week after he led the GAC in rebounding with an average of 14.5 boards per game and tied for the league lead in steals with a two-game total of six. The junior forward led the GAC in both offensive and defensive rebounds with 10 and 19 respectively.

In Thursday night's game against Southwestern Oklahoma State, Grayson recorded a Ouachita NCAA-era record 20 rebounds, the most by anyone in the GAC this season. He also added 13 points to combine for his 13th double double of the season.

The Gonzales, Louisiana native added 21 points, nine boards, five steals, and five assists in the Tigers' 79-78 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, including the go ahead shot to give Ouachita the lead with five seconds left.

Nationally, Grayson has moved back into the top five in Division II in rebounding average at 11.6 boards per game. The junior is tied for fourth in DII in double doubles and ranks 11th in scoring at 23.1 points per game.

This is Grayson's eighth GAC Player of the Week award so far this season.

Grayson and the Tigers will be back in action this Thursday, February 13 when they host cross-street rival Henderson State University in a black out night at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena.
