WEATHERFORD, Oklahoma – Southwestern Oklahoma State ran out to a double-digit lead within the first three minutes of the game which set the tone for what ended up being a 66-47 road loss for Ouachita on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs scored the game's first 11 points and led 20-2 at the 3:31 mark of the first period as Ouachita struggled shooting at 1-for-5 during that stretch and also committed eight turnovers.
Ouachita came back to outscore SWOSU in the second period to cut the deficit down to 13 at the halftime break down 34-21.
The shooting struggles continued for the Tigers in the third period at 35 percent, which fell to 22 percent in the fourth.
Audri Winfrey led the Tigers with a career-high 17 points and also tied for the team lead in rebounds seven. Brooke Smith added 12 points and seven boards.
The Tigers wrap up the weekend road trip with a game against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Alva.
