ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team gave Dallas Baptist a good fight to the end in a 4-3 loss to the Patriots on Friday in the Tigers' home opener.

Ouachita started by winning the double point with Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Ruxandra Tolescu convincingly winning on court one 6-1 and Ali May and Jenny Pfaefflin needing extra points to win on court three at 7-6.

In singles, the Kholdarova and Tolescu earned hard fought victories at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Kholdarova beat DBU's 39th-ranked Leonie Schondelmaier 7-6 and 7-5. Tolescu need a third set to win her point with scores of 6-2, 3-6, and 7-6.

DBU came back to win on the final four courts to earn the team win.

The Tigers will be back in action next weekend in Edmond, Oklahoma against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State.
