WARRENSBURG, Missouri – Ouachita wrestler Jimmy Anderson will be making a return trip to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships following his second-place finish in 133-pound class at the Super Region 4 Tournament on Saturday hosted by Central Missouri.
Anderson, ranked fifth nationally at 133, earned a first-round bye and then took down Indianapolis' Jadon Gyan with a pin in 6:29 in the quarterfinals to set up a semifinals matchup against Central Missouri's James Wright.
After both Anderson and Wright earned five points in the second period, Anderson came away with the sudden victory with a takedown at the 1:01 mark of the overtime period.
In the finals, Anderson was matched up fourth-ranked Peter Rolle of Central Oklahoma. Rolle took an early lead with takedown in the first period, and rode that advantage to a 4-1 decision.
Other highlights of the Tiger wrestlers on Saturday included Jaylon Otero just missing out on a nationals bid with a fourth-place finish in the 157 bracket. Parker Henry and BK Seago each finished in fifth place of their respective weight classes.
The 2025 D2 Wrestling Championships will be held March 14-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
