INDIANAPOLIS – The Ouachita men's and women's swimming & diving teams wrapped up the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships with one individual All-American and one All-America Relay team on Saturday night at the IU Natatorium.
Miles Schulze earned his second First Team All-America honor of the week to close out his collegiate career after placing eighth in the Championship Final of the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:57.68, less than a second away from fifth place. Schulze is now a career three-time First Team All-American as a Tigershark. Schulze also earned First Team All-American honors on Friday for a seventh-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke.
The men's 400 Freestyle Relay team of
Sam Ragsdell,
Daniel Meszaros,
Vince Pal, and Ian Redman placed 13
th in the event with a time of 2:56.87, less than a second out of the top 10, to earn Second Team All-American honors and score eight points for Ouachita.
Ouachita's men placed 17
th overall with a score of 68 points, the team's highest finish and most points scored since 2013. The Tigershark men improved eight spots from last season's 25
th place finish. The men were the highest placing team out of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference as Delta State finished 27
th with 22 points and Henderson State placed 33
rd with 11 points.
On the women's side, Ouachita recorded points at Nationals for the first time since 2012, scoring three points and placing 36
th thanks to
Anna Phelps' finish in the 200 Butterfly.
Phelps became the first Tigershark woman to earn All-American honors in 13 years after placing sixth in the Consolation Final of the 200 Butterfly on Friday night to make Second Team All-American.
A total of eight Tigersharks earned All-America honors across the five days of competition at the 2025 National Championships. In addition to the ones mentioned above,
Zsombor Bujdoso (400 IM) and
Daniel Meszaros (200 Freestyle) each earned First Team All-American honors for their respective finishes in Championship Finals on Thursday.
Tyler Andruss, Pal, Bujdoso, and Meszaros added Second Team All-America honors for a 10
th place finish in the 800 Freestyle Relay on Tuesday.
The Tigersharks close the book on a successful season that saw the men record a perfect 10-0 record in dual meets and their first NSISC Championship since the year 2000. The women's season included two dual meet wins over rival Henderson State and a third-place finish at conference.
