GRAYSON EARNS NABC ALL-DISTRICT HONORS

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Great American Conference's best men's basketball player has now been named one of the best in the region for the second time this season.

Ouachita's Hobert Grayson has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Central District Second Team for the 2024-25 season.

Grayson is one of 10 players to be selected to the all-district teams for the central region, which consists of teams from the GAC, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Grayson is one of just two players from the GAC to make the list.

The junior was recently named the GAC Player of the Year, the GAC Defensive Player of the Year, and the GAC Newcomer of the Year, along with unanimous first team all-conference honors for his performance during the 2024-25 season. He is the first player in GAC history to earn three superlative awards in the same season.

Grayson finished the season averaging a double-double at 21.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. He ranks in the top five of the GAC in 15 different categories, including leading the league in double-doubles (17), field goal attempts (500), rebounds (331), rebounds per game (11), and defensive rebounds per game (8.3). On the national level, he is sixth in double-doubles and eighth in rebounds.

His 653 points and 331 rebounds this season both rank fourth in the Ouachita single-season record charts. His 52 steals this year are tied for eighth.

The Gonzales, Louisiana native helped Ouachita finish 22-8 this season, marking the most successful season in terms of total wins in the NCAA era. The 22 victories are the most total wins for the program in a single season since 1987.

Grayson is Ouachita men's basketball's first all-region honoree since 2016.
