Ouachita's
Hobert Grayson has been named a Second Team All-American by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
Grayson is Ouachita men's basketball's first All-America honoree since 2015 and is just the fifth Tiger to be named an All-American in program history.
Grayson is one of 20 players in all of Division II to be selected to the All-America teams. Making the second team puts the junior forward in the top 10 of players in D2. Grayson is one of just three players from the central region and the only member of the GAC to earn All-America honors.
The junior was recently named the GAC Player of the Year, the GAC Defensive Player of the Year, and the GAC Newcomer of the Year, along with unanimous first team all-conference honors for his performance during the 2024-25 season. He is the first player in GAC history to earn three superlative awards in the same season.
Grayson finished the season averaging a double-double at 21.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. He ranks in the top five of the GAC in 15 different categories, including leading the league in double-doubles (17), field goal attempts (500), rebounds (331), rebounds per game (11), and defensive rebounds per game (8.3). On the national level, he is sixth in double-doubles and eighth in rebounds.
His 653 points and 331 rebounds this season both rank fourth in the Ouachita single-season record charts. His 52 steals this year are tied for eighth.
The Gonzales, Louisiana native helped Ouachita finish 22-8 this season, marking the most successful season in terms of total wins in the NCAA era. The 22 victories are the most total wins for the program in a single season since 1987.
Grayson is the first player in the GAC to earn Second Team All-American honors since 2020.
