ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team secured its third consecutive victory on Saturday, coming back from a doubles deficit to beat Collin College by a score of 4-3 inside the Ward Tennis Center.
The Cougars started with doubles wins on courts two and three to take a 1-0 lead into singles. Ouachita's Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Natalia Zamora Caprirolo won on court one 6-1.
In singles, Kholdarova equalized the team score with a clean sweep victory at No. 1, taking down her opponent by a pair of 6-0 scores. Zamora Caprirolo and Anastasia Myachina earned two-set victories at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, while the Cougars took a point at No. 3 to put the Tigers up 3-2 heading into the final two matchups.
For the second straight match, Karli Gay was the clincher for the Tigers with a convincing victory at No. 6.
The Tigers are in Arkadelphia for their next two matchups, hosting Texas-Tyler next Saturday, March 14 and then going across the street for a non-conference matchup against Henderson State the following Wednesday, March 19.
