ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team opened the final week of the regular season on Tuesday at home with a 7-0 Great American Conference victory over Arkansas Tech.
Ouachita came away with wins on courts one and two in doubles to take a 1-0 lead into singles. Sadbaroy Kholdarova and Natalia Zamora Caprirolo won on court one, while Jenny Pfaefflin and Marlee Bledsoe earned a win on court two.
In singles, all six matchups resulted in Tiger victories with Kholdarova, Anastasia Myachina, Karli Gay, and Ali May all recording two-set wins. Zamora and Alice Kubler both needed tiebreakers in their respective matchups.
The Tigers finish the regular season this Thursday, hosting cross-street rival Henderson State for a GAC match starting at 2 p.m. The Tigers will celebrate the career of the team's lone senior, Ali May, at approximately 1:50 p.m.
