TIGERS BEAT REDDIES ON SENIOR DAY

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team is headed into the postseason on a high note following a 4-3 Great American Conference victory over cross-street rival Henderson State at home on Thursday.

The Tigers fell behind in doubles, losing two of three to put the Reddies up 1-0 heading into singles. HSU won on courts one and two. Alice Kubler and Ali May came up with a win on court three.

In singles, Anastasia Myachina was the first to finish with a two-set win on court four to even up the match 1-1. HSU went on to win on courts two and five, while the Tigers roared back with two-set wins from Sadbaroy Kholdarova on court one and Ali May on court six.

That left all eyes on court three, where Alice Kubler had won the first set convincingly before falling in the second set to force a tiebreaker. Kubler won the third set 6-4 to clinch the team victory for the Tigers.

Ouachita honored its lone senior, Ali May, prior to the match. May is a four-year letterwinner for the Tigers.

The Tigers now turn their attention to the 2025 GAC Championship Tournament, which is set for next Friday-Sunday, May 2-4 in Bentonville, Arkansas.
