RICHARDSON, Texas — The Ouachita Baptist men's soccer team finished its non-conference road trip with a scoreless draw against Texas A&M International on Saturday at the UTD Soccer Complex.
Senior goalkeeper Dillon Staal was the catalyst for the Tigers (1-2-2) with five saves to secure his second clean sheet of the 2025 season. Staal set the tone and denied the first shot on goal in the second minute, then added three more saves in the second half. Ouachita's All-GAC goalkeeper kept the Dust Devils (2-0-4) off the scoreboard despite having a 14-2 advantage in total shots.
Two Ouachita freshmen tried to break the ice in the opening half. A strike from midfielder Andrew Castellanos clipped off the right post in the 10th minute. Forward Luke Grigsby created space for another chance to score in the 30th minute, but his shot sailed wide left.Â
The Dust Devils applied consistent pressure and controlled possession for 57% of the match, but the defensive effort from the Tigers preserved the scoreless draw. Despite a 5-0 edge on corner kicks, Texas A&M International could not capitalize.Â
Ouachita returns home to host Southern Nazarene (2-2) on Thursday to open Great American Conference play at Kluck Field.
