RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Great American Conference has announced its weekly volleyball awards, which feature Ouachita's
Kylie Kisgen as the league's defensive player of the week.
Kisgen helped Ouachita go 3-2 this past week, which including a conference road win over Southern Arkansas and sweeps over Missouri S&T and McKendree this past weekend at the Central Missouri Comfort Inn Invitational. The only losses for the Tigers were to Central Missouri in four sets and a five-set thriller against ninth-ranked Washburn.
For the week, Kisgen led the league in total digs and digs per set 121 for an average of 6.37. She had 32 digs in the win over SAU, 18 against Missouri S&T, 35 against Central Missouri, 14 against McKendree, and 22 against Washburn.
Overall this season, the junior from Freeburg, Illinois leads the GAC and ranks second in the nation in digs per set at 6.02. She is also second in the nation in total digs at 277.
Kisgen and the Tigers are back to GAC play on Tuesday night on the road against Arkansas-Monticello.
