TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's soccer team opened its 2025 season on Friday night with a 1-0 road loss to Northeastern State.
The Riverhawks controlled the offensive pace of the game, resulting in 18 total shots for NSU, six of which coming on goal, and nine corner kicks. The Tigers, on the other hand, were held to just three total shots, two of which on goal, and two corner kicks.
The only score of the game found the net early in the second half from NSU's Sydney Taylor in the 48th minute.
Reese Brown accounted for two of Ouachita's three shots, one of which with a chance to equalize in the 78th minute, but saved by NSU keeper Rebecca Partyka for one of her two saves.
Taylor Hapgood played the full 90 in goal for the Tigers and registered five saves.
Ouachita returns to Arkadelphia for its next game, which is the first home game of the year. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. this Sunday, September 7 against Midwestern State at Kluck Field.
