POTEAU, Okla. – The Ouachita wrestling team dropped a rematch with Carl Albert State by a final score of 28-11 in Oklahoma.Â
Just three Tiger grapplers emerged victorious Wednesday, including a pair of lightweights that competed in Tuesday's victory over Newman. Junior 125-pounder Justin Shaw kicked off the dual earning a 20-5 tech fall over Marley Hogan to give the Tigers an early 5-0 lead. After the Vikings leveled the score, freshman 141-pounder Iziah Tusler picked up his second straight dual win in a 7-3 decision over Liam Sherrill as Ouachita reclaimed an 8-5 edge through three bouts.Â
The Vikings won the next five bouts, until Ouachita's freshman heavyweight Parker Glaze closed the dual with a 6-1 decision over Brandon Schoenecke. Due to inclement weather, Ouachita will not travel to Nebraska to compete in the tri-dual, originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24. The Tigers (5-6, 1-2 MIAA) visit No. 16 Central Missouri next Saturday, Jan. 31 to cap the regular season with a final Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association dual meet.
