ARKADELPHIA – The accumulation of ice and snow mixed with an extended period of freezing temperatures in the region has forced changes to the schedules for many of Ouachita's winter and spring sports.
BASEBALL
The three-game home series against Southwest Baptist has been canceled. The Tigers are now set to open the season next weekend (February 6-8) with home games on Friday, Saturday, and Saturday.
SOFTBALL
The season-opening games in the McGhee-Hawins Memorial Classic have been canceled. The Tigers are now set to open the 2026 campaign next weekend in San Angelo, Texas in the George & Ola McCorkle Challenge hosted by Angelo State.
SWIMMING & DIVING
The Ouachita-Henderson State dual, originally scheduled for January 23 and postponed to January 30, has been postponed once again. The Tigersharks and Red Wave are now set to compete next Friday, February 6 at the Waggoner Pool inside Ouachita's Sturgis Center. The diving action is set to start at 3 p.m. There will be a Senior Night recognition ceremony at 5:30 p.m. followed by the swimming portion of the event at approximately 5:45 p.m. The Tigershark Shootout, originally slated for February 6-7, has been canceled.
MEN'S TENNIS
The Tigers' spring opener against Collin College, originally scheduled for this Saturday, January 31, has been postponed. A new date will be announced when finalized.
BASKETBALL
The men's and women's basketball games on the road against Harding, originally scheduled for January 24, have been rescheduled for Monday, February 9 in Searcy. The women's game will tip at 5:30 p.m. with the men's game to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
University officials are monitoring the weather and campus facility conditions and will make further changes if needed.
