ARKADELPHIA – Eight Ouachita football players have been selected to the 2025 Academic All-District Team presented by College Sports Communicators.
The Tigers to earn the honor include senior defensive lineman
Max Dickson, Jr., senior tight end
Brayden Hendricks, senior offensive lineman
Dylan Horton, senior tight end
Garrison Jackson, senior kicker
Dax Jaggers, junior defensive lineman
Joey Ortego, senior defensive lineman
Connor Schorp, and junior running back
Lyric Tredwell.
Starters or significant reserves in at least their second season with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 are eligible for the honor.
Horton and Jaggers are now three-time CSC Academic All-District honorees. Horton was also one of Ouachita's top athletic performers this season, most recently earning a spot on the D2Football.com Elite 100 All-America Squad. He was a CSC Academic All-American last year and is on pace to graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in engineering. Jaggers is on track to graduate this spring with degree in kinesiology.
Ortego is now a two-time academic all-district honoree majoring in biology and kinesiology.
Garrison Jackson (accounting), Hendricks (finance), and Tredwell (biology) are all set to graduate this spring. Schorp is a recent graduate with a degree in finance and business administration. Dickson, Jr. is majoring in kinesiology.
Horton, Jaggers, Jackson, Ortego, and Schorp were all named to the All-Great American Conference team this past season for their performance on the field. The group helped Ouachita secure its 17th consecutive winning season, which is the longest active streak among all college football programs in the state of Arkansas.
