ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas - The Ouachita Baptist University women's soccer team battled Southwestern Oklahoma State to a 1-1 draw Thursday night at Kluck Field.
After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Southwestern Oklahoma State struck first at the 48:31 mark, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 advantage.
Ouachita responded just over 10 minutes later. In the 58th minute, Isabella Savattere delivered a corner kick from the left side, finding Brookelyn Babb in front of the goal. Babb headed the ball past the goalkeeper and into the middle of the net to even the match at 1-1.
The Tigers continued to pressure the Southwestern defense throughout the second half, recording seven shots after halftime. McKenna Wright registered four shots for Ouachita, while Lennon Porter added two shots, including one on target. Babb also recorded two shots and finished with Ouachita's lone goal.
Goalkeeper Dominique Klujian played all 90 minutes for the Tigers and made five saves, helping Ouachita preserve the draw.
The draw moves Ouachita's record to 2-4-4 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play.
Ouachita hosts Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, October 3 at 11 a.m.
