PENSACOLA, Florida – The Ouachita men's swimming & diving team has moved into first place at the 2026 New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships thanks in part to a dominant showing in the 200 freestyle.
The Tigersharks had five of the top eight finishers in the 200 free, highlighted by a win from
Stefan Duca and three NCAA B standard times. Duca paced the race with a time of 1:37.83 to give the Tigersharks their third win of the week.
Sam Ragsdell and
Tyler Andruss also tallied B cuts in third and fourth place, respectively.
Vince Pal finished fifth.
James Savarese finished eighth.
Other top performers for the Tigershark men on Thursday included
Ian Redman Aguilar in third in the 100 fly (49.25),
David Ware in fifth in the 100 fly (49.48),
Ethan Sparks in the 100 fly (49.83),
Anthony Paculba in fifth in the 400 individual medley (4:00.74), and
Lucas Cagle in sixth in the 400 individual medley (4:05.95).
For the Tigershark women on Thursday, top performers included
Anna Phelps sixth in the 100 fly (56.63),
Britta Andruss sixth in the 200 free (1:54.71), and
Janna Moellenhoff in eighth in the 400 individual medley (4:39.90).
Heading into the final two days of the championships, the Tigershark men hold the top spot overall with a score of 528.5. Henderson State sits in second at 520. The Ouachita women remain in third.
Friday's action will include breaststroke and backstroke for the first time as stand alone events. Prelims start at 10 a.m. with the finals getting underway at 5 p.m.
