ARKADELPHIA – Six Tigers reached double-digits in scoring to lead the Ouachita women's basketball team to a 75-62 Great American Conference victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State at home on Saturday.
The Tigers went 2-0 this week and improve to 12-7 overall and 9-6 in GAC games to stay near the top of the standings heading into the final three weeks of the regular season. NWOSU falls to 15-6 overall and 10-5 in GAC games.
Ouachita held a lead for 35 minutes of Saturday's victory and pulled away with an explosive 27-point third period, 10 of those points coming from the free throw line. The Tigers continued their efficient shooting into the fourth period at 50 percent in the final 10 minutes to prevent a late NWOSU rally.

Samantha Watson all scored 13 points in the win.
Abbey Harrison and
Madeleine Tipton scored 11 points.
Kayden Porter added 10.
The Tigers head to Searcy on Monday, February 9 to take on Harding in a game that was originally scheduled for January 24 but postponed due to the winter storm. Monday's tipoff against the 11th-ranked Bisons is set for 5:30 p.m.
