ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's tennis had its season-opening win streak halted on Monday with a 6-1 loss to 21st-ranked Mississippi College at home.
The Choctaws (5-2) and Tigers (6-1) split the first two courts in doubles, including Ouachita's
Yarin Aebi and
Ramon Strassmann winning on court one 6-3. MC took the doubles point with a hard-fought win on court three that needed a tiebreaker game to determine the victor.
In singles, Strassmann secured Ouachita's only point in the match with a two-set win on court one, defeating Mattia Rici 6-4 and 6-2.
Moritz Buss came close to a win, forcing a tiebreaker game on court three, but eventually falling 4-6, 6-3, 6-10.
The Tigers are back in action this weekend with two matches in Dallas, taking on Hawaii Pacific on Friday and then UT-Dallas on Saturday.
