RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Ouachita women's tennis team lost to Arkansas Tech on Monday on the road by a final score of 4-3 for the team's third straight close conference matchup.
The Golden Suns earned 6-0 sweeps on courts one and two to open the match with a 1-0 lead.
Alice Kubler and
Jaelyn Walker salvaged one win for the Tigers on court three, taking down their ATU counterparts by a 6-4 decision.
In singles, Kubler and
Ruxandra Tolescu started with wins on courts four and three, respectively, to put the Tigers up 2-1. Tech won the next two on courts one and five to regain the lead at 3-2.
Marlee Bledsoe then secured a three-set win on court six to even up the match.
Another three set matchup determined the overall team win with Tech's Lucia Perez beating Ouachita's
Anastasia Myachina on court two.
The Tigers are off for more than a week before wrapping up the regular season on Friday, April 24 across the street against Henderson State.
