LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The Ouachita volleyball team made the top 20 percent at the NCAA Division II level in academics during the 2025-26 season.

The Tigers have earned the program's eighth consecutive and 12th overall American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, which is presented to squads that maintain at least a 3.3 grade point average throughout the year.

This season, Ouachita has also been selected for the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll for the first time in program history, which spotlights the top 20 percent of teams at each level. Ouachita and Southwestern Oklahoma State represent the Great American Conference on this year's list of 32 featured teams at the D2 level.

These honors put an exclamation point on one of the most successful seasons in Ouachita volleyball history. The Tigers ended 2025 with a 26-5 overall record and finished 15-1 in GAC matches to win the league's regular season championship.

Another highlight of the season was a perfect 13-0 record in home matches played at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.

The 2025 Tigers had five players selected to the All-GAC teams, 10 players selected to the GAC Academic Honor Roll, and four players selected to the Academic All-District Team.

Reigning GAC Coach of the Year Allison Frizzell-Kizer and the 2026 Tigers open the season on August 18 with an exhibition match on the road against Louisiana Tech. The first home match is set for September 3 against UT-Tyler to open the Reddie-Tiger Invitational.
