ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's soccer team fell to Washburn 2-0 on Friday afternoon at Kluck Field.
While the Tigers did not find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes of play, the highlight of the first half came from
Dominique Klujian who recorded two saves in a matter of seconds. With Washburn taking a penalty kick, Klujian tallied a save on the PK and another just seconds later when Washburn tried to score on the ricochet.
The Ichabods scored in the closing minutes of the first half to take the 1-0 advantage going into halftime.
Washurn scored another goal in the opening minutes of the second half. The deficit proved too much for the Tigers to overcome, as they fell by a final 2-0.
Ouachita's total shots were spread out among
Lily Ahlers and
Isabella Savattere with two shots each and
Lennon Porter,
Olivia Erskine, and
Kaylee McKinley with one shot apiece. Savattere and McKinley also added shots on goal.
The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, Sept. 13 against No. 18 Central Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Kluck Field.
