RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced earlier today that Adrianna Nolly has been named the Offensive Player of the Week.

"I am so honored to receive this recognition especially on the first week," Nolly said, "Receiving this award shows how much my teammates and I have worked before this tournament and how dedicated we are to be successful."

This is the third career offensive player of the week award won by Adrianna Nolly (Denton, Texas). The Lone Star State native also took home the honor in week one of the 2017 season and in week two of the 2016 season.

"Adri came to play this weekend," Ouachita head volleyball coach Allison Frizzell-Kizer responded. "I asked her to a light a fire each time she went in and she did just that. Stormi [Leonard] did a great job of putting the ball just where Adri needed it and Adri executed when we needed her. Her energy is contagious and the team fed off of it."

The Lake Dallas product got off to somewhat of a slow start by her standards, registering just five kills against Auburn-Montgomery. Then Nolly flipped the switch and produced three consecutive double-digit kill games. The two-time All-GAC selection finished one kill shy of her career high of 21 kills against Alabama-Huntsville. It was also the third 20 kill match of her career. Nolly ended the weekend with 50 kills and a .425 hitting percentage.

When Nolly was not on the attack she made her presence known defensively at the net. The junior recorded 20 blocks over the weekend and registered at least six blocks in three of the four games.

"I am looking forward to seeing the improving connection she creates with Stormi as the year goes along," Frizzell-Kizer said.

The Ouachita volleyball team has teamed up with Henderson State to host a volleyball tournament in Arkadelphia this coming weekend. The Tigers first match of the tournament will be at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon against Dallas Baptist in the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
