BOLIVAR, Missouri- The Ouachita Tigers men's tennis team faced off with No. 16 Southwest Baptist this weekend, the second time that the two teams have met this season. Ouachita lost the first meeting between the two opponents, but showed SBU that they weren't willing to accept another loss so easily, taking an 8-1 victory over the Bearcats.
Ouachita's only loss in the match came in the first match-up of the day, when Southwest's No. 24 ranked Domingos Carrissimo defeated
Helge Knuth by a score of 6-2, 6-2. After that loss, the Tigers took it to the Bearcats, winning the last eight match-ups of the day.
Highlights include a Ouachita victory in the number two singles match-up, when Ouachita's Marko Boscovic defeated No. 34 ranked Jorge Margiotta by a final score of 6-4, 6-4. Ouachita's doubles team of
Marvin Muller and
Helge Knuth downed the No. 10 ranked team of Margiotta and Carrissimo in the first doubles match of the day, taking an 8-4 victory.
The Tigers return to action on March 1,when they face off against Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant, Oklahoma.
