Lady Tigers Win On The Road. Improve to 7-1 On The Year.

Box Score ALVA, Okla. – Haley Hatcher and Megan Clay scored two goals each to lead the Lady Tigers to a 5-2 win over the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers. The Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 7-1 and their conference record to 2-0.

The Tigers led 1-0 at the end of the first half thanks to a successful penalty kick by Halley Hatcher at 23:22 in the first half. The Tigers outshot the Rangers 16-3 in the first half but had trouble getting anything past Ranger goalie Caitlin Thorpe, who recorded eight saves in the half and 12 total for the game.

The Tigers came out aggressive in the second period of play and Haley Hatcher scored her second goal of the game when her strike found the upper left of the goal from 10 yards out on the right side of the field. Less than two minutes later, Tessa Woodcock's crossing-pass found Barbara Pascale and she scored to make it a 3-0 game.

OBU's Megan Clay would score the next two goals for the Tigers. Her first coming at the 80 minute mark when she took an assist from Jessica Allen and beat the Ranger keeper off the dribble to score from 10 yards out. Her second would come unassisted three minutes later.

Both Northwestern goals came in the second half. Jessica Tellez scored on a free kick from 25 yards out and Erica Hosteletter scored on an assist by Kelsey Leveling at the 84:29 mark.

OBU outshot Northwestern Oklahoma 26-8. 16 of the Tigers 26 shots were on target.   

The Tigers continue their Oklahoma road trip when they travel to Weatherford to square off against the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 pm.
