Men's Tennis Advances to GAC Title Game with Win Over Harding

BENTONVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita men's tennis team advanced to their second straight Great American Conference Championship match with a win over Harding on Friday afternoon. The Tigers will face off with East Central in the championship, a re-match of last year's championship match, which the Tigers won.

Ouachita took two of the three doubles matches on Friday, before taking three of the four singles matches and cruising through to the championships.

The duo of Marko Boskovic and Vitor Oliveria took down Harding's pair of Kittibodee Singil and Jon Mark Rowden by a score of 8-5 to kick off action. Next up was Ouachita's team of Helge Knuth and Marvin Muller, who absolutely dominated their match against Harding's Caleb McReynolds and Matheus Mosquera-Carrascosa en route to an 8-1 victory.

Harding took the final doubles match of the day, as Helio Hashimoto and Adam Edwards downed Ouachita's Riccardo Bassani and Leon Ferran by a score of 8-5.

The one singles loss for the Tigers came in surprising fashion, as Ouachita's number one, and GAC Player of the Year Boskovic fell to Singil by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Knuth wasn't going to allow Harding to put together any momentum in the team points though, as he defeated Rowden in a 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 decision.

Muller was next up, sailing past Ford in a 6-1, 6-3 win, followed by a 6-0, 6-4 win for Ouachita's Teodor Anghel over McReynolds.

Ouachita's set of Tigers will look to take out East Central's Tigers on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the championship match. All matches from the GAC Championships will take place at the Memorial Park Tennis Complex in Bentonville, Arkansas.
