Tigers defeat NWOSU 41-10 to improve to 5-0.

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – All-American return specialist Etauj Allen returned two punts for touchdowns and senior running back Steven Kehner rushed for three scores to lead the Ouachita Tigers to a 41-10 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Oklahoma. The Tigers improved to 5-0 and dropped Northwestern to 1-5.

The Tigers opened the first half with a 12 play, 69-yard drive, taking five and a half minutes off the clock. Ouachita senior kicker Matt Ehasz split the uprights from 28 yards out to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Senior return man Etauj Allen scored next for the Tigers, returning a punt 48 yards for the score, giving Ouachita a 10-0 lead. Ouachita's defense dominated the first quarter, forcing three straight three-and-outs by the Northwestern offense and holding them to nine yards of total offense and no first downs.

The Tigers scored first in the second quarter on a 32 yard field goal by Ehasz and looked to be in control early with a 13-0 lead. Northwestern would respond on the ensuing drive with a 33-yard touchdown pass, cutting the lead to 13-7. After a Tiger punt, the Rangers would connect on a 30-yard field goal cutting the lead to three. Ouachita's offense answered the challenge five play, 75-yard drive highlighted by a 53-yard run by quarterback Kiehl Frazier. Steven Kehner would punch it in from and Ouachita would lead 20-10 at the end of the first half.

Ouachita started quickly in the second half, extending their lead by 17 on a 50-yard touchdown run by Steven Kehner for his second score of the game. The Tiger defense forced another Northwestern three-and-out on the ensuing drive, putting the ball in Etauj Allen's hands again.

Allen fielded a booming 58-yard punt by Northwestern at his own 18 yard line. After eluding three defenders, Allen would cut back across the field to scamper 82 yards for the score. Trailing by 24, Northwestern would drive down inside the Ouachita 10 yard line. The Rangers were turned away empty-handed as the Ouachita red-zone defense held them scoreless and forced a fumble to end the drive. At the end of the third quarter, Ouachita led 34-10.

The Tigers increased the lead by seven after a seven play, 99-yard drive culminated by Kehner's third rushing touchdown of the second half. Kehner's six-yard run gave Ouachita a 41-10 lead. That score would hold for the final.

Steven Kehner finished with 145 yards on 20 carries and three touchdowns. Kiehl Frazier finished the day 14-19-0 for 108 yards passing. He rushed eight times for 110 yards.

Etauj Allen returned 3 punts for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 43.4 yards per return.

The Tiger defense held NWOSU to 252 yards of total offense. NWOSU was only 3-14 on third down conversions. The Tigers also forced one turnover in the game.

The victory was Ouachita Tigers Head Coach Todd Knight's 100th career victory.
