FORT WORTH, Texas ā Ouachita Baptist freshman
Lilia Clark (Hillsboro, Texas) won the women's 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 53.53 on Saturday afternoon as both the men's and women's swim teams fell to TCU.
"The atmosphere and the crowd were great at the meet on Saturday." Ouachita swim coach
Steven Bostick said, "We had a large group of alumni and parents at the meet supporting us and when Lilia [Clark] won her race it got really loud, thanks to our supporters."
Clark also had a top-five finish in the 100-yard breaststroke and participated on both relay teams for the Tigers. In the women's 1000-yard freestyle event
Camilla Howarth (Allen, Texas) placed fifth with a time of 11:40. Howarth also placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle event with a time of 5:36.92.
In the 200-yard freestyle event
Susannah Frith (Lafayette, La.) came in fifth place with a time of 2:14.43. Frith also raced in the 200-yard breaststroke and finished with a time 2:49.42. Three Tigers competed in the 100-yard backstroke competition. Anastasiia Ulianova (Ukraine) came in eighth, while
Madison McGhee (Alma, Ark.) and
Madison Shankle (Alma, Ark.) finished in 10
th and 11
th place respectively.
Senior
Emily Mahan (Piperton, Tenn.) finished eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke and fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke. In the 200-yard butterfly event
Sydney Parker (Edmond, Okla.) and
Elysian Majeske (Spring, Texas) finished in fifth and sixth place respectively.
In the 50-yard freestyle,
Christina Beger (White Hall, Ark.),
Alyssa Reece (Paragould, Ark.),
Victoria Kunselman (Forth Worth, Texas) and
Coral Mansker (Ozark, Mo.) finished in ninth through 12
th place. Reece and Shankle also participated in the 100-yard freestyle event, finishing in ninth and tenth place.
Ulianova and McGhee finished fifth and sixth respectively in the 200-yard backstroke. While, Parker and Beger finished in seventh and tenth place in the 100-yard butterfly event.
On the men's side
Trayton Armstrong (Dallas, Texas) and
Jack Conner (Rockwall, Texas) started the competition off with a third and fourth place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle event.
Sebastian Bustillo (Tegucigalpa, Honduras),
Vaughn Stresow (Frisco, Texas) and
Brendan Daugherty (Little Rock, Ark) were next up in the 200-yard freestyle.
The trio finished respectively in fourth through sixth place.
In the 100-yard backstroke senior's
Alexander Podguzov (Moscow, Russia),
Noah Day (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) and
Jacob Evans (Magnolia, Texas) all finished with top-five times. The Tigers added another trio of top-10 finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke event.
Mitchell Lee (Moscow, Tenn.) came in fourth place, while
Nolan Gerfers (Porter, Texas) and
Lucas Riley (Fort Smith, Ark.) finished in fifth and sixth place.
Brandon Parramore (Gainesville, Fla.), Conner and
Mason Youngblood (Silsbee, Texas) all had top-five finishes in the 200-yard butterfly event. In the 50-yard freestyle event, Stresow, Noel and Gerfers finished fourth through sixth respectively.
In the 100-yard freestyle event,
Nathan Wuellner (Houston, Texas) and
Chris Harrison (Little Rock, Ark.) both had top-five finishes in the event. Podguzov finished second in the 200-yard backstroke, while Day and Riley placed fifth and sixth in the event. Parramore,
Peyton Stone (Garland, Texas) and Lee all posted top-five finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke.
The Tigers will take a break for the winter holidays before they head to Pensacola, Fla. To race against the University of West Florida on January 5
