ARKADELPHIA – In the first of two regular season meetings between the Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University swimming & diving teams, it was the RedWave that came out on top on Friday at HSU's Wells Natatorium.

The HSU men beat Ouachita 136-100. The HSU women won 153-90. The two teams will meet again in the 2022-23 Battle of the Ravine series on January 27 at Ouachita's Waggoner Pool.

Ouachita men top performances against HSU:

• 1000-yard freestyle: Anthony Paculba won the event by a three-second margin with a time of 9:53.36.
• 400-yard individual medley: Noah Smith finished a close second in the event by less than a second with a time of 4:11.29.
• One-meter diving: Ouachita took first, second, and third place. Samuel Woods won with a score of 231.55. Bryce Benson finished second at 189.90. Chase Foiles finished third at 143.70.
• 100-yard backstroke: Noah Smith finished in second, less than a second off the leader with a time of 53.29.
• Three-meter diving: Bryce Benson won head-to-head over HSU's Jevonn Cobin 179.90-156.20.
• 100-yard breaststroke: Miles Schulze won the event with a time of 58.54. Duncan Troup came in a close second at 58.78.

 
Ouachita women top performances against HSU:

• 50-yard freestyle: Rachel Del Angel finished in second place by less than three tenths of a second at 25.30.
• 400-yard individual medley: Keilee Holcomb won the event with a four-second margin and a time of 4:33.51.
• One-meter diving: Lenna Conard finished in second with a score of 188.55.
• 100-yard butterfly: Keilee Holcomb won the event with a time of 57.68.
• 100-yard backstroke: Kaitlyn Montgomery finished in second place, just two tenths of a second off the leader with a time of 1:00.95.
• Three-meter diving: Abigayl Conard finished in second with a score of 162.70.
• 200-yard freestyle relay: Ouachita's team of Rachel Del Angel, Keilee Holcomb, Kaitlyn Montgomery, and Elise Henderson finished a close second by two tenths of a second with a time of 1:39.51.
