MCGREGOR EARNS FIRST GAC TRACK AWARD

RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Ouachita Baptist University's Jaci McGregor has been selected as the first Great American Conference Track Athlete of the Week for the 2022 outdoor season.

After earning All-GAC first team honors in cross country during the fall, the freshman picked up right where she left off with an impressive track debut for the Tigers. In five outdoor events so far this spring, McGregor has turned in four first place finishes and one second place finish.

McGregor's best event so far has been the 1,500-meter race with three consecutive school record finishes. She finished first in the Mississippi College opener on March 5 with a time of 4:50.12, finished first in the Hendrix Invitational on March 12 with a time of 4:47.29, and finished second in this past weekend's UT-Tyler Ice Breaker Classic with a time of 4:46.18.

The Salado, Texas native also set a new school record in the 800-meter race at UT-Tyler with a first-place time of 2:23.13. She also helped Ouachita's A squad win the 4x400 relay at the Hendrix Invitational and set a new school record in the event with a time of 4:11.51.
