NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Jaci McGregor and Macie Cash led a cast of Ouachita Baptist University track and field athletes against primarily NCAA Division I opponents this past weekend at the Carl Kight Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin University.
McGregor continued her record-breaking streak by setting a new school record in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 4:43.55. She has now set a new school record in the event in three straight meets. She came in fourth in Friday's race out of 28 runners.
On Saturday, McGregor set another new school record with a sixth-place finish out of 39 runners in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:17.05, breaking her own school record by nearly six seconds. Also in the 800-meter race, Izzi Breaux, Macie Cash, Emily Payne, and Emily Castilaw posted the third through sixth fastest times for the Tigers this season.
Macie Cash set a new school record in the 5,000-meter race, coming in seventh out of 22 runners with a time of 18:25.19. Kristen Holeyfield came in 11th with a new personal best time of 18:36.12, which would have been good enough for a school record had Cash not been ahead of her.
Rebekah Wendt came within two tenths of a second of breaking her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, coming in ninth out of 16 runners with a time of 1:09.49.
Victoria Bourgeois posted Ouachita's second-fastest time of the season in the 400-meter race with a new personal best time of 1.05:75.
The Tigers are back in action this Friday at the Little Rock Invite.
