JOPLIN, Missouri – The Ouachita Baptist University women's cross country team went on the road for the first time of the 2022 season, posting a 10th place finish out of 26 teams at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday morning.
Two weeks after winning the Bob Gravett Invitational on the Ouachita campus by a 17-second margin,
Taylor Koeth turned in a school-record 5K time of 17:54.76 on Saturday for a 29th place finish out of 251 runners.
Macie Cash was Ouachita's next best finisher with a personal best 5K time of 18:33.76 for 57th place. Kate Nachtigal and
Jaci McGregor also finished with times in the 18-minute range. Nachtigal improved her time from the Gravett Invitational nearly 45 seconds for a personal best in Joplin with a time of 18:46.01. McGregor turned in her second-best career performance with a time of 18:49.46.
Ouachita turned in the second-highest team performance among Great American Conference teams on Saturday in 10th place with 302 points. Oklahoma Baptist finished ninth at 291.
The Tigers are back in action next Friday, September 23 with a trip to the gulf coast to compete in the West Florida Invitational.
