JOPLIN, Mo. – The Ouachita men's and women's cross country teams capped the 2025 season Saturday with solid efforts at the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships, hosted by Missouri Southern State University.
Five Ouachita runners on the women's team finished the 6K race in under 23 minutes, giving the Tigers a team score of 345 in a deep regional field. The women's team placed 13th out of 35 schools, led by a pair of standout seniors. Allison Hylkema paced the Tigers in 34th, clocking a time of 22:05.85 over the 6K course. Katelynn Nachtigal followed behind in 58th at 22:27.56. Junior Lucy Holden finished in 80th place with a personal-best time of 22:49.36.
In the men's race, the Tigers placed 16th out of 30 teams, compiling a team score of 446. The Tigers were led by Great American Conference Freshman of the Year Caleb Greenwich, who finished 44th with a time of 32:06.16 over the 10K course in his regional debut. Senior Evan Armitage placed 80th in 32:58.27, while sophomore Gabriel Metoyer followed in 94th at 33:18.86.
The Central Regional Championship marked the conclusion of a campaign that featured 16 of the top 30 performances in Ouachita program history.
