ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis put together a commanding performance this past weekend at the Tiger-Reddie Invitational with a combined total of 28 wins against Hendrix and Texas A&M-Texarkana.
Overall, the Tigers went 28-for-32 combined in singles and doubles against the Warriors and Eagles. On Friday against Hendrix, Ouachita combined for 13 wins in 14 combined matchups. On Saturday against TAMUT, Ouachita combined for 15 wins out of 18 combined matchups.
Against Hendrix, the Tigers won three of four doubles matchups with victories coming from the duos of
Austynn Crocker and
Sadbaroy Kholdarova (6-0),
Olivia Gaston and
Shelly Davilus (6-1), and
Natalia Zamora Caprirolo and
Marlee Bledsoe (6-2).
In singles against Hendrix, Ouachita won all 10 matchups.
Ali May and Gaston each won both of their respective matchups. May won 6-1 in second position in round one, and then won 6-1 in third position in round two. Gaston wont 6-0 in third position in round one, and then won 6-1 in fourth position in round two.
Other singles wins against Hendrix came from Kholdarova (6-4 first position, round one), Bledsoe (6-2 fourth position, round one),
Keelan Williams (6-2 fifth position, round one), Crocker (6-1 first position, round two), Davilus (6-2 second position, round two), and
Carla Gallart Polo (6-2 fifth position, round two).
On Saturday, against TAMU-Texarkana, Ouachita won five of the six doubles matchups and 10 of the 12 singles matches.
In doubles against the Eagles, the wins came from the duos of Crocker and Kholdarova (6-2), Zamora and Bledsoe (6-0), Gaston and Davilus (6-4), Williams and May (7-5), and Crocker and Bledsoe (6-3).
In singles, the wins came from Crocker (6-3 & 6-4), Kholdarova (6-2 & 7-5), May (6-0 & 6-0), Gaston (7-5), Davilus (6-0), Bledsoe (6-1), and Williams (6-4).
The Tigers wrap up the fall portion of the 2023-24 schedule this weekend in Russellville at the Great American Conference Fall Championships.
