RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University women's cross country team took second place in the 2023 Great American Conference Championships.
The Tigers placed second out of the 12 total teams at the Championship meet, scoring 62 points.
The top runner for the Tigers was
Macie Cash, who finished fifth in the 5K race with a time of 18:12.7, just two seconds out of third place. Cash's fifth-place finish earned her First Team All-GAC honors.
Mackenzie Davis also earned First Team All-GAC honors with a sixth-place finish and a time of 18:14.3.
Three more Tigers earned Second Team All-GAC honors with finishes in the top 20. They were
Allison Hylkema in 15
th place with a time of 18:43.4,
Lucy Holden in 16
th place with a time of 18:44.6, and
Izzi Breaux in 20
th place with a time of 18:51.1.
Elise Knight and
Taylor Koeth received GAC Elite Scholar Athlete honors for their 4.0 GPAs.

Avery Womack all earned GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete honors for their work in the classroom.
The Tigers took second place with 62 total points. They were only behind the champions East Central who scored 45 points. Arkansas Tech took third with 67 points, followed by Oklahoma Baptist in fourth with 77 points and Harding in fifth with 96 points. The rest of the teams were Southeastern Oklahoma, Southern Arkansas, Southern Nazarene, Northwestern Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma, Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello in places six through 12 respectively.
The Tigers will now be prepping for NCAA Regionals that will take place on Saturday, November 4 in Joplin, Missouri.
