ARKADEPLHIA – The Ouachita men's swim and dive team dropped its road meet against rival Henderson State by a score of 134-109 on Friday night.
The Tigersharks won a total of five events at the meet across the street. The winners were:
Tyler Andruss won two events for Ouachita. He won the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:41.57 and the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 9:53.67. Andruss won the 1000 Freestyle by a 16-second margin.
Jeff McCoy won the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:11.09. McCoy also took second in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 52.73.
Gavin Richardson won the 1-Meter Diving with a score of 269.55. Richardson also took second in the 3-Meter Diving with a score of 258.55.
Carson Powers won the 3-Meter Diving with a score of 273.60. Powers also placed third in the 1-Meter Diving with a score of 230.25.
The Tigershark men placed either second or third in 15 events, they were:
- Elijah Christenson finished second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:44.78. Christenson also placed third in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 50.39.
- Sam Ragsdell placed second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 47.18.
- Miles Schulze took second in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 58.01, just 0.08 seconds out of first.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Sam Ragsdell, Alex Schulze, Rafael Bustillo and David Ware placed second in the event with a time of 1:26.04.
- Ian Redman placed third in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:45.24. Redman also placed third in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 48.05.
- Noah Smith took third in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:15.04.
- Ethan Sparks finished third in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 54.04.
- Colton Martinez placed third in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:53.41.
- The 200 Medley Relay squad of Ethan Sparks, Miles Schulze, Elijah Christenson and Alex Schulze placed third in the event with a time of 1:34.75.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay Squad of Blayz Hood, Ian Redman, Chad Gscheidle and Jeff McCoy placed finished third in the event with a time of 1:29.89.
The final score of the dual meet was 134-109 in favor of Henderson State.
Up next, the Tigersharks will compete in the Oklahoma Christian Invitational that is set to take place Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
