ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University women's basketball team took on the first-place team in the Great American Conference on Sunday, eventually falling to Southern Nazarene University by a final score of 83-60.
The Tigers (9-10, 6-9 GAC) trailed for the entire game, but came within one point of the Crimson Storm (17-4, 14-1 GAC) after six straight points made it 47-46 in favor of SNU with 5:32 remaining in the third period.
However, from that point, SNU held Ouachita scoreless until the 8:16 mark of the fourth period. In the meantime, the Crimson Storm had built a 17-point lead, its largest lead at the game at that point. SNU maintained its scoring pace and eventually got on top by as much as 24 points in the final minutes.
Ouachita finished the game shooting 39 percent from the field (21-for-54). SNU finished at 54 percent (29-for-54).

Makayla Miller led the Tigers with 14 points each.
The Tigers are now set for their longest road trip of the season, heading to Alva, Oklahoma on Thursday, February 9 to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State next Saturday.
