SEARCY, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist University men's and women's track and field teams saw success in the Harding Invitational meet on Saturday.
On a cold Saturday, the women's team won three events and the men's team won one, with several other Tigers finishing near the top in their events.
Another program record was set this weekend, as
Karis Martin broke the women's 100 Meter record with a time of 12.74 seconds, placing ninth in the event, but was less than half of a second out of first place.
The First Place Finishing Tigers were:
Dylan Dew won the men's 1500M with a time of 4:06.64.
Jaci McGregor won the women's 800M with a time of 2:26.34.
Mackenzie Davis took first place in the women's 1500M with a time of 4:50.0.
Macie Cash placed first in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 11:42.27.
Second and Third Place Finishing Tigers:
- Ashlynn Hecht took second place in the women's 800M with a time of 2:27.01, less than a second out of first.
- Kate Nachtigal placed second in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 11:48.87.
- Karis Martin finished second in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.28 meters (17 feet, 4 inches.)
- Xander Naegle finished third in the men's 400M with a time of 52.24, less than a second out of second place.
- Dylan Dew took third place in the men's 800M with a tine if 1:59.41, less than two seconds out of first place.
- Whit Lawrence took third in the men's 5000M with a time of 15:25.38.
- Elise Knight finished third in the women's 1500M with a time of 4:53.88.

- Marcus McGahee placed fourth in the men's 400M with a time of 52.43, just 1.1 second out of second place.
- Ethan Kailey finished fourth in the men's 1500M with a time of 4:11.17.
- Abby McElhaney finished fourth in the women's 800M with a time of 2:30.83.
- Jaci McGregor placed fourth in the women's 1500M with a time of 4:56.15.
- Presley Roberts finished fourth in the in the women's 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:15.47.
- Becca Beard took fifth in the women's 1500M with a time of 5:07.72 and finished sixth in the women's 800M with a time of 2:31.57.
- Laynie White placed fifth in the women's 800M with a time of 2:31.55.
- Savannah Carrigan placed fifth in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.03 meters (16 feet, 6 inches.)
The women's team dominated the 800M and 1500M races. In the 1500M, nine of the top 10 finishers, and 16 of the top 18 runners were Tigers, with Ouachita taking places first, third though eleventh, and thirteenth through eighteenth. As for the 800M, seven of the top 10 finishers were Tigers.
Next up, the Tigers will take a smaller team to compete in the Rhodes Invitational in a two-day meet beginning Friday, March 24 in Memphis, Tennessee.
