ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men's and women's track and field teams divided and conquered this past weekend as they split up and set a total of seven program records between the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas and at the East Texas Invitational in Commerce, Texas.
Kansas Relays
The Kansas Relays 100
th anniversary meet saw the Tigers break three program records and earn a first-place finish among several large Division I programs.
The record setters were:
Taylor Koeth won the women's 10,000 Meter race, setting a new program record in the process with a time of 37:05.97, breaking the previous record by almost two-and-a-half minutes.
The women's 4x800 Relay squad of
Izzi Breaux, Jaci Mcgregor,
Elise Knight, and Ashlynn Hect set the program record in the event with a time of 9:43.05 and earned a fourth-place finish.
The women's Distance Medley Relay squad of
Abby Elcan, Kate Natchtigal,
Macie Cash, and
Mackenzie Davis broke the program record with a time of 12:52.06. The squad placed fourth in the event, behind only Division I schools.
Other top Tiger runners at the Kansas Relays:
Kate Natchtigal finished fifth in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 11:31.15.
Macie Cash placed sixth in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 11:35.04.
Whit Lawrence took seventh place in the men's 10,000M with a time of 32:05.06.
East Texas Invite
The Tigers set four program records and saw more success at the East Texas Invitational hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce.
The record setters were:
Emily Payne broke the women's javelin record with a distance of 30.35 meters (116 feet, five inches,) breaking the previous record held by Eden Crow by 23 feet and one inch. The 30.35-meter throw earned Payne a fifth-place finish in the event.
Reyna Rogers broke her own record in the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.40 meters (34 feet, 1.5 inches,) earning Rogers a seventh-place finish in the event.
Karis Martin broke her record in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.46 meters (17 feet, 11 inches,) breaking the record by three inches and earning Martin a sixth-place finish.

Alexis Perry,
Reyna Rogers, and
Rebekah Wendt set a new record in the event with a time 50.80, which earned the squad a third-place finish in the event.
Other top Tiger runners at the East Texas Invite:
- Sara Holman took second in the women's 10,000M with a time of 41:02.29.
- Allison Hylkema placed third in the women's 10,000M with a time of 41:15.52.
- Emily Castilaw took third place in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 13:52.04.
- Evan Armitage placed third in the men's 5000M with a time of 15:57.38.
- Caden Callahan finished in third place in the men's 400M Hurdles with a time of 56.75, less than two seconds out of second place.
- Sydney Delgado finished fourth in the women's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 14:19.87.
- The women's 4x400M Relay squad of Alexis Perry, Ashley Dillman, Laynie White, and Rebekah Wendt finished fourth in the event with a time of 4:15.54.
- Lawson Sanders took fourth place in the men's 5000M with a time of 16:15.15. Sanders also placed fifth in the men's 1500M with a time of 4:10.88, less than a second out of fourth place.
- Brayden James placed fourth in the men's 3000M Steeplechase with a time of 11:12.94.
- The men's 4x400 meter relay squad of Ben Himaya, Marcus McGahee, Xander Neagle, and Caden Callahan finished fourth in the event with a time of 3:33.68.
- Becca Beard placed fifth in the women's 1500M with a time of 5:00.09, just over a second out of third place. Beard also finished sixth in the women's 5000M with a time of 19:47.39.
- Melina West earned fifth in the women's 10,000M with a time of 43:32.57.
- Megan Monk finished sixth in the women's 1500M with a time of 5:00.68, just one-and-a-half seconds out of third place.
- Maggie Gregory placed sixth in the women's 10,000M with a time of 44:19.82.
- Ethan Kailey took sixth in the men's 1500M with a time of 4:12.23, less than two seconds out of fourth place.
- Lawson Wideman placed sixth in the men's 5000M with a time of 16:15.96, less than a second out of fifth place.
Next up the Track Tigers will head to Jonesboro, Arkansas to compete in the Red Wolves Open, hosted by Arkansas State University. The meet will begin on Friday, April 21.
